Ralph Iacontino, 91, of Plainview, NY, passed away on June 29, 2026, following a courageous and difficult battle with lung, heart, and kidney complications.
Ralph was born on October 18, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Ralph and Dominica Iacontino. He built a successful career as an Electrical Engineer, working first for IBM and later for Grumman until his retirement.
Beyond his career, he had a unique passion for meteorology. His favorite hobby was tracking the weather, frequently calling into local news channels with updates, and reliably reporting forecasts to his family and friends. Ralph was a natural entertainer who filled rooms with joy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his endless supply of jokes, his singing, his love for entertaining, can’t forget baseball and most important, the profound, unwavering care he took of his family.
Ralph is survived by his loving spouse, Marie Iacontino; his devoted children, Maria Iacontino-Murphy and Deborah Iacontino; and his cherished grandchildren, Brooke and Nicholas Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dominica; his brother, Michael Iacontino; his parents-in-law, Frank and Nelle Campanella; and his brother-in-law, Carlo Campanella.
