Henryk Wilczewski

Henryk Wilczewski, 94, husband of the late Jadwiga Sikorska of Middle Village, New York, passed away on November 16, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 4 1929 in Lopuchowo, Bialystok County, Poland. Son of the late Anna Bjnowska and Stanislaw Wilczewski. He, along with his wife and three small children, landed at JFK Airport on February 21 1965 and were greeted by his mother's sister Amelia Ruszkowska. He first settled in Maspeth, then Ridgewood and finally Middle Village. He was extremely loyal and proud of the United States. He was wholeheartedly devoted in the Catholic faith, attending mass every week at Holy Cross Church. He enjoyed family gatherings and was extremely proud of his ten grandsons and one granddaughter. He loved to to travel with his Church group. When at parties, he was usually the first one on the dance floor. Among his hobbies and passions included gardening, riding his bike and helping people. He enjoyed getting together with his friends every afternoon at Juniper Valley Park to talk and ride bicycles. He stopped riding at the age of 86. While visiting his wife's gravesite one sunny day, a complete stranger approached asking him o help her find her grandfather's gravesite. That stranger soon became family. No visit to his house during the summer months went without a tour of his garden. When harvest season arrived, he enjoyed giving away his abundance to family, friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his: his two daughters, Bozena Pitera and his son-in-law Stan; Wiesia Sadowska and his son-in-law Alfons; and his son Bogdan Wilczewski and daughter-in-law Arlene. His beloved grandchildren Jason and Joanna, Marcin and Stephanie, Steven and Brittany, Michael, James, Christopher and Lauren, Adam, Adam, Daniel and Aita, Natalie and Gabriel and Andrew. By his great grandchildren Alana, Casey, Sophia and Ivy

A viewing will be held on Sunday November 19th 2023 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm . at D'Angelo funeral home. Mass will be held on Monday, November  20 203, at 10:00a.m at Holy Cross Church with burial to follow in the family plot with his wife Jadawiga at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
