Elio was born to Attilio and Elvia Viola on March 14, 1933, in Cavedago, Italy. He served two years in the Italian Army before making his way to Canada where he worked as a carpenter. He soon made his way to the United States after meeting the love of his life Ida Prantil. They wed and had two children Michael and Julio Viola. He was a loving father and husband. Although Elio was an immigrant he believed in the American Dream as he was proof that it was real. In 1974 Elio became a naturalized citizen of the United States and was proud when he received this designation. Elio worked in construction for 50 years and is a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 962. In his free time Elio could be found in his workshop, making furniture, which he enjoyed doing immensely. Elio also felt a sense of community and was always willing to assist his friends and neighbors with any issue they had in their home. Elio was adept at woodworking, plumbing, painting and electric work. He could do it all despite not having any extensive formal training. He instilled in his children the values of working hard and the reward of being able to do things on your own. He was the proud grandfather to Nicole, Andrew, and Michelle Viola and Ricky Riano. Proud great grandfather to Alexander Riano. Preceding him in peace are his wife Ida, his parents Attilio and Elvia and brother Bruno Viola.
